They repeat in Geneva the negotiations between the US and Iran on nuclear power. Pezeshkian “Khamenei banned the development of atomy”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, arrived at the Oman embassy in Geneva to participate in the third round of indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran. The Iranian media reported it. The U.S. negotiating team is led by Steve Witkoff.

Yesterday evening Araghchi met the Foreign Minister of Oman, Badr al-Busaidi, with whom he discussed the proposal that Tehran will make in Washington on nuclear. Al-Busaidi will now be the mediator between the two delegations to convey their proposals and answers. American Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Iran continues to represent a “very serious threat” for the United States, citing both its nuclear ambitions and the wide missile and naval capabilities.

The third cycle of indirect talks between Iran and the United States will focus exclusively on the nuclear question. The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei, quoted by the Tehran media. The Iranian diplomacy spokesman said that Tehran presented proposals focusing on safeguarding its nuclear rights and obtaining the revocation of sanctions during the ongoing negotiations. Baghaei stated that the Iranian delegation participated in today’s talks in Geneva committed to pursuing national interests. The spokesman reiterated that Tehran remains open to continue the dialogue, while firmly defending its objectives declared in the negotiations.

Iran will not develop nuclear weapons because the supreme leader of Iran, the ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has banned weapons of mass destruction. This was declared by the Irnan President, Masoud Pezeshkian, on the eve of the third round of indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran scheduled today in Geneva. Khamenei, who has the last word on the nuclear program, has banned the development of nuclear weapons with a fatwa, a religious decree, in the early 2000s, and Iran has constantly denied wanting to acquire such weapons. However, it enriched uranium at higher levels than those required for peaceful use.
