ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In Thailand Pedro Acosta, riding the Ktm, wins the first Sprint Race of the season, played along the circuit of Chang. Today’s podium consists of Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo), in second place, and Raul Fernandez (Aprilia Trackhouse), in third place.
During the last lap Marc Marquez became the protagonist of a very hard overtaking on Acosta that cost him a penalty from the race direction. As Acosta went wide, the Spanish was forced to give way to the rival.
The Aprilia of Ai Ogura and Jorge Martin close the race respectively to the fourth and fifth place. In the order, the top ten consists of Brad Binder (Ktm), Joan Mir (Honda), Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Pertamina), Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) and Luca Marini (Honda).
LE DICHIARAZIONI
Pedro Acosta: “It’s really beautiful to make such a Sprint against Marc Marquez. However, I don’t really feel like a winner today, since Marc made me parade on the final. I thank my team and all those who helped me achieve this. Tomorrow we will try to get a victory better.”.
Marc Marquez: “When I saw the fall of Bezzecchi I just tried to control the race and its pace. Every time Acosta got closer, I could get through it in the next corner. Too bad for the penalty, but I brought home nine points anyway. Severe sanction? He decides the race direction: I follow the rules simply.”.
Raul Fernandez: “I dedicate the podium to the team: it is thanks to them and I did not expect this result this morning. The race of tomorrow will be very long: we must grow in the first and second sector, because we lose so much ground. Today I managed because the margin I had on Martin was enough.”.
