ROMA (ITALPRESS) – More than 500 participants and 253 awards. Today, at the Hilton hotel in Fiumicino, the award ceremony of the National Amateur League and the youth and school sector of Figc was held. Overall, 81 amateur companies were awarded the goal of 100, 75, 50, 40 and 30 years of activity respectively, as well as 30 Federation leaders who have gained 40 and 20 years of activity in central or territorial structures and 83 managers of companies also with 40 and 20 years of activity. For the youth sector of Federcalcio, 48 managers and 3 clubs were awarded.

“Italian football needs enthusiasm, experience and values represented by the amateur movement”, explained in his speech the president of Figc Gabriele Gravina. “The National Amateur League is the heart of the football system: a movement of thousands of companies, hundreds of thousands of athletes, managers and volunteers who every day keep alive the authentic value of sport – said Gravina -. In the fields of province and in the small stages football expresses its most genuine, social, relational, educational and cultural dimension. Today we especially reward the commitment, sacrifices and dedication demonstrated over the years.”.

“Our success is given by the social dimension that we can transfer to the territory – explained the president of the National Amateurs League, Giancarlo Abete -. We must try to combine the competitive dimension with the social dimension, demonstrating that we are stronger than the problems we see in the field of play and the episodes of violence we reject. We have to be stronger than unpretentious behavior and we have to do so through games, meetings and initiatives on the territory through the presence of all our worlds, from female to football to 5 passing through beach soccer”.

Among those present also the former president of Coni and Figc, now number 1 of the Paralympic and experimental Football Division, Franco Carraro, in addition to the current Secretary General of the Coni, Carlo Mornati, to the president of the youth and school sector Figc Vito Tisci and to the world champion 1982 Dino Zoff, who accompanied his first team, the Mariano, in the award of the 100 football life.
