MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Comieco, the National Consortium for the recovery and recycling of cellulose-based packaging, announces the passing of witness to the management. Roberto Di Molfetta was appointed general manager of the board of directors, succeeding Carlo Montalbetti who concludes his term after thirty-seven years at the helm of the Consortium, while maintaining the functions of strategic consultant.
The appointment of Di Molfetta, already deputy director and responsible for the Recovery & Recycling area, expresses the will of the Consortium to enhance management continuity and in-depth knowledge of the system matured internally. From Molfetta, present in Comieco since 1998, he has played a key role in relations with local authorities, operators of supply chains and industrial partners, contributing to operational effectiveness and achieving national collection and recycling objectives.
Montalbetti has led Comieco since 1989, accompanying the Consortium in all stages of development. Under his leadership, Comieco has been able to face and overcome the different challenges of the sector, consolidating the results of excellence in recycling and reaching with 5 years in advance the objectives envisaged by the EU.
The passing of witness takes place in a transformation phase for the entire sector of cellulose packaging, between the evolution of the European regulatory framework on packaging, the increasing attention to the quality of differentiated collection and the need to guarantee efficiency and stability to the recycling chain.
