VAL DI FASSA (ITALPRESS) – Laura Pirovano, at race number 125 in the World Cup, scores his first victory. The 28-year-old thirty, among other things never climbed on the podium in the maximum circuit, makes his descent on the La VolatA slope of Passo San Pellegrino, in Val di Fassa, recovery of the race not completed in January to Crans Montana: 1’21′40 the chrono that allowed her to stand before for just one cent to the German Emma Aicher, silver in Milan-Cortina, with Breezy Johnson, world gold and Olympics.
“I am in the seventh heaven, I still have to realize what I have done – the words of Pirovano – I win for a penny and I am sorry, but many times it has gone wrong to me and today I want to enjoy it. It was a long time that I was aware of competing well. I don’t know what changed today, or why it never happened before. Probably, it all turned around right today. I received so much affection both from my teammates, but also from the other athletes of the World Cup. We always see each other, we know each other and it’s nice to share with them. Today is all magnificent.”.
As for the other blues, Elena Curtoni closes in tenth position (+0′′′73), further back Roberta Melesi (15th to 0′′85 starting with the pectoral number 39), Nadia Delago (16th to 0′′′86), Sofia Goggia (17th to 0′′′′′90) and Nicol Delago (19th to 0′′′95). At points also Asja Zenere (29th), outside the top 30 Sara Thaler (40^) and Sara Allemand (42^).
The weekend in Val di Fassa foresees another descent tomorrow and Sunday a supergiant, both with departure fixed at 10.45.
