Gava to the Council of Europe, the Committee approves the plan of the Government on the Land of the Fuochi

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Vice-Minister of Environment and Energy Security Vannia Gava, together with the Extraordinary Commissioner for Bonifics, the General of Carabinieri Giuseppe Vadalà, presented to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe an update on the actions of the Government to address the criticalities of the Land of the Fuochi.

The 28 delegations, including Switzerland, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Spain, expressed their appreciation for the direct participation of a government representative and for the rapidity of the interventions adopted, from the appointment of the Extraordinary Commissioner to the definition of an overall action plan in less than a year. The Committee underlined the consensus on Italian measures, recognizing progress in governance, draft planning, land controls and health and environmental monitoring.

“I thank all delegations for the contributions and recognition of efforts – Gava said. We will continue to involve civil society and accelerate the interventions: with the plan of 200 million for 2026-2027 we are committed to returning these territories to the citizens”.

At the end of the discussion, Deputy Minister Gava thanked the interministerial direction booth, Commissioners, Prefects, ISPRA and in particular undersecretary Alfredo Mantovano for the valuable contribution to the work carried out, underlining the importance of the collaboration between institutions.
