The film Final Broadcast, directed by Davide Ippolito and produced by N41 Studios, was presented in Los Angeles during the Oscar Week at the Eastwood Performing Arts Center.
The event represented the first official screening of the film outside the festival circuit and a new stage of its international journey, after the debut at the Big Apple Film Festival in New York. The opera also took part in numerous festivals worldwide, including Tokyo, Athens, Denver, Nashville, Seattle, Miami and New Orleans. Final Broadcast also marks the first production of the Italian-American house N41 Studios, founded by Davide Ippolito himself along with Emanuele Scamardella. The two sign the project as executive producers along with Simone D’Andria.
The film stands out for an essential and claustrophobic narrative structure that recalls the aesthetics of the cinema “found footage”, combining real time, television language and apocalyptic ambientation. The story develops entirely within a television studio during a live show that tells the last hours of the world. Through this narrative device, Final Broadcast reflects on the role of media in an era dominated by continuous information, focusing on themes such as building reality through television, collective fear amplified by the media and the fragility of the truths that are told to us, in the background of the great contemporary tensions between geopolitical crises, nuclear threats and global emergencies.
The soundtrack is signed by composer Davide Pannozzo, while Jacopo Rampini is among the main interpreters.
“Bring Final Broadcast in Los Angeles is a very important moment for us,” said Davide Ippolito, director and producer of the film. “This project is born from the desire to tell our relationship with information and collective fear in an age dominated by the media. The language of the film is deliberately direct and immersive, almost as if the viewer was witnessing a transmission that should never go on air”.
For Emanuele Scamardella, co-founder of N41 Studios and executive producer, the presentation also represents a symbolic passage for the production house: “Final Broadcast is the first step of N41 Studios and perfectly encompasses our vision: to develop international projects capable of combining contemporary storytelling, experimentation and collaboration between Italian and American talents”.
After the New York preview at the Big Apple Film Festival and the participation in numerous international festivals, the presentation of Los Angeles consolidates the presence of the work in the American film circuit. The overall release of Final Broadcast is scheduled before summer, at the end of the festival season.
