At the start of the Mercedes GLB Hybrid

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The new Mercedes-Benz GLB is now configurable and neat in a light hybrid version, which combines the fully electric model and extends the offer of Mercedes-Benz SUVs. The entry price starts from 49.516 euros for the GLB 180 Advanced version of 136 horses, equipped with mild hybrid system to 48 Volt able to provide an overboost of about 22 kW, equal to about 30 additional horses.

The new GLB hybrid is proposed with three power levels – 136, 163 and 190 CV – and is available with both front and 4Matic integral traction. The range includes four production lines – Advanced, Advanced Plus, Premium and Premium Plus – designed to offer a broad level of customization and maintain the value of equipment over time.

Among the strengths of the model stands out the great versatility, with a cabin designed to accommodate up to seven passengers thanks to the optional configuration to three rows of seats. The design maintains the off-road setting typical of the GLB but introduces a completely renewed cabin, characterized by the new Superscreen that integrates the main digital functions and infotainment. On the efficiency front, the GLB 180 version declares consumption less than six liters every 100 kilometers.

The new 1.5-litre turbo engine uses a Miller cycle-based combustion process, a solution that reduces consumption especially in the partial load conditions typical of daily driving. The engine also adopts an aluminium base with NANOSLIDE coating of cylinder rods, a headboard with partially integrated exhaust manifold and a turbocharger with segmented turbine.

Technical solutions include a 48 Volt electric coolant compressor, derived from the M 256 engine, which reduces friction and allows to climateize the vehicle even during the stops or in the electric gear stages. With these features, the GLB hybrid aims to combine efficiency, space and technology in an SUV designed for larger families.
