CATANIA (ITALPRESS) – Police officers have arrested a representative of the Mazzei clan of Catania, sentenced to 13 years and 10 months of imprisonment by mafia association and other crimes.
The man, at the same time as the judgment of sentence, dated 8 January last, and the issue of the order of execution by the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Catania, had become irreperible. The Mobile Team of Catania has immediately started a series of complex investigations aimed at capturing, with the technological support of personnel belonging to the Central Operational Service.
The policemen of the Mobile and the Central Operating Service, after having managed to locate the apartment where the fugitive was hiding, located in the locality Fiumefreddo, surrounded the building, then breaking into the house. The man, who did not resist during the blitz, was found in possession of a fake driving license and credit cards, on which investigations are underway.
The arbitration was accompanied at the prison of Catania Bicocca. The position of the owner of the property within which the condemned was traced is at the expense of the district attorney of Catania.
