This recognition, in fact, encourages the territories to long-term planning, attracts sponsors and funds, multiplies the initial investment and impacts also on the tourist flows, not only the rewarded destinations: in the past, the capital cities have helped to ensure that the cultural destinations in Italy covered more than 60% of total attendance.” These are the words of the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè on the proclamation of Ancona in Capital of Culture 2028.
