Juventus-Cagliari 1-1, Vlahovic and Marin penalties decide

TURIN (ITALPRESS) – The match between Juventus and Cagliari in the seventh round of Serie A 2024/2025 ended in a draw, 1-1. Juve failed to secure its eighth win in a row at the Allianz Stadium in Turin against the islanders, as well as its third consecutive win in the season between league and cup. For Cagliari, on the other hand, the positive momentum continued after successes in the Coppa Italia against Cremonese and in the league against Parma. After a first quarter of an hour under pressure from the hosts, the game was unblocked at 15′ when Vlahovic converted a penalty awarded by referee Marinelli after VAR consultation for a hand foul by Luperto on Gatti’s header. Five minutes later it was Conceicao who tried with a taut shot from the distance but Scuffet reflexively repelled. Again the Rossoblù goalkeeper was the protagonist at 26′ when with a deflection in the corner he denied the goal on Koopmeiners powerful conclusion. Little Cagliari in the first 45 minutes: Nicola’s men tried a few restarts without, however, putting the Juventus defense particularly in crisis. Resume along the same lines as the first half, with Juve committed to setting up the game and Cagliari trying to respond on the throw-in. After a couple of good attempts by Conceicao, one out and one rebuffed by Scuffet, it was Vlahovic again who tried on 27′ with a diagonal left-footed shot that again found the Cagliari goalkeeper’s response. But the Serbian missed his big chance at 33′ when on a Douglas Luiz conclusion again repelled by Scuffet he sent the tap-in just wide. By contrast, Marin made no mistake at 43′ when he converted a penalty kick awarded by the referee again on VAR consultation for a foul on Piccoli. The red and blue player thus broke Juventus’ unbeaten streak on goals conceded in the league. More thrills in full recovery with a wood struck by Cagliari on a conclusion from outside by Obert and one by Juventus directly on a corner kick by Yildiz.- photo Ipa Agency – (ITALPRESS).
