NAPOLI (ITALPRESS) – Investigations on the very serious road accident occurred in the evening of yesterday, Sunday 22 March, around 19:15, in Corso Garibaldi, at the height of Porta Nolana. A man was arrested for road murder. According to the men of the Operational Unit San Lorenzo and the Local Police Road accident, two women of Ukrainian nationality were crossing Corso Garibaldi to head towards Via San Cosmo Fuori Porta Nolana. Once in the middle of the road, they were overwhelmed with extreme violence by a car led by a 34-year-old man.
Due to the violent impact, the driver lost control of the car, finishing his race against three vehicles regularly on the right side of the road. The wounds from the two Ukrainian towns appeared immediately desperate. One of the two women died on the blow due to the gravity of the impact. The second victim was transported urgently to the Sea Hospital, where doctors tried in vain to save her life; the death occurred about two hours after the hospital.
The Mercedes driver was immediately subjected to urgent checks for the verification of the alcohol rate. The tests have provided a positive outcome. Informed the Public Ministry of Shift at the Prosecutor of the Republic of Naples, man was declared under arrest with the application of the measure of domicile detention. The agents also proceeded with the withdrawal of the driver’s license and the seizure of the vehicle, resulting in being a rental car. On the scene of the tragedy, the staff of the local police are completing the technical reliefs, listening to the witnesses present at the time of the fact and proceeding to the acquisition of images of the video surveillance systems of the area to reconstruct the exact dynamic of the left.
