ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Defender Rally wins a very important result at the bp Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal 2026, bringing all three crews to the finish and signing a hat in the Stock class.
Stèphane Peterhansel and Mika Metge, winners with a total time of 11:57:33 at the end of five days of race characterized by extreme conditions and particularly technical tracks.
Behind them were Rokas Baciu eka and Oriol Vidal, second with 12:00:02, followed by the crew formed by Sara Price and Sean Berriman, third with 13:09:58. A result that confirms the solidity and performance of the Defender Dakar D7X-R, the absolute protagonist in the category dedicated to the series vehicles.
The race, played between Portugal and Spain for a total of about 6,600 kilometers, has put hard test vehicles and crews with mud, water, dense vegetation and narrow and fast strokes. Despite the difficulties, the Defenders maintained a competitive pace, recording times in line with the Ultimate category cars.
In the last stage, Baciu.ka and Vidal won the partial victory, ahead of Price and Berriman and Peterhansel and Metge. In the general classification of the Car category, Defender crews closed at the 16th, 17th and 30th place, confirming reliability and performance in one of the most challenging contexts of the international rally-raid.
