ROME (ITALPRESS) – Israel will never achieve victory over Hamas and Hezbollah. This is what Iranian leader Ali Khamenei said in his Friday sermon in Tehran. “The policy of the arrogant and tyrants is based on sowing divisions and conflicts among Muslims,” Khamenei said, “The enemy of the Islamic nation is one, even if its methods differ from one country to another. We must fasten the defense belts of the Islamic nation from Afghanistan to Yemen and from Iran to Gaza and Lebanon.” For the highest Shiite authority, “every people has the right to defend its land and sovereignty against occupiers and usurpers. The Palestinian people have the full right to rise up against the occupier who has wasted their lives. No one has the right to criticize the Lebanese for supporting their Palestinian brothers by defending their land.”
With respect to the rocket attack launched on Israel, Khamenei explained that “the step taken by our armed forces in support of Gaza a few days ago is legal and enjoys full legitimacy. The flooding of Al-Aqsa is a legitimate and natural move for the Palestinian people. The Islamic Republic will do what is necessary with strength and determination. We will not be complacent, nor will we be in a hurry.” With respect, however, to the commemoration of Hassan Nasrallah, the ayatollah added that “he was the flag of resistance and the brave defender of the oppressed. The cowardly enemy failed to strike an effective blow at the structures of the resistance factions, so he resorted to a policy of murder and destruction. Hezbollah’s defense of Gaza and its support for the Al-Aqsa Mosque represent a crucial service to the entire region.”
