BYD and San Marino, at the start test on integrated energy technologies

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – BYD announces the signing of a strategic framework agreement with the Republic of San Marino, marking a decisive step towards the energy transition and the development of integrated technological solutions.

The agreement, formalized by the State Congress, aims to transform the San Marino territory into a leading platform for the experimentation of innovative models ranging from sustainable mobility to energy self-sufficiency.

The three-year agreement defines a scope for cooperation that ranges from the use of the “Sandbox” legislation (which allows experimentation in real controlled environment of innovative technologies), to the strengthening of the National Homologation Centre and to the development of ultra-fast charging infrastructures. Particular emphasis is on the challenge of energy self-sufficiency, to be pursued through industrial storage systems and high efficiency photovoltaic production.

To these directors is flanked the valorization of the San Marino system for the protection and development of brands and patents, sector identified by the Government as a strategic asset to attract intellectual property linked to the technological innovations of BYD.

At the signing were the Secretary of State Rossano Fabbri (Industry), Alessandro Bevitori (Lavoro), Marco Gatti (Finanze) and Andrea Belluzzi (Affari Interni), along with the leadership of BYD.

“With this signature we are outlining the economic identity of San Marino of the future,” jointly declare the State Secretariats present. “The goal is to make the Republic a unique innovation laboratory in Europe, able to attract investments and offer concrete answers to climate and energy challenges while improving the essential services for our citizens.”.

For BYD, the agreement is a strategic opportunity to develop an integrated and replicable model internationally. “San Marino is a unique environment, able to set up industrial and institutional skills to develop integrated 360-degree projects,” says Alessandro Grosso, Country Manager at BYD and DENZA Italia. “Our goal is a partnership that accompanies the development of an integrated model capable of producing, storing and distributing energy. A replicable and exportable model also in other international contexts.”.

The implementation of the plan will be entrusted to joint working groups that will monitor each operational phase, ensuring that each pilot project is validated according to rigorous sustainability indicators.
