Fisco, Meloni “In the three years 2023-2025 recovered more than 100 billion euros”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The twenty-five years of the Agency of the Entrate are “a very important milestone, and I want to take this opportunity to thank all those – officials and managers of the Agency – who daily put their competence in the service of the State and citizens”. So premier Giorgia Meloni in a video message at the event for the 25 years of the Agency.

“Today there is also data on the activity of contrast to the tax evasion carried out in 2025 and from this data a good news emerges: the sum recovered last year has reached the record figure of 36,2 billion euros – continues the president of the Council -. It is the highest figure ever, more than 43% more than 2022, when the government settled. And that means that in the three years 2023-2025 we have recovered more than 100 billion euros: valuable resources, which on the one hand help us to keep the accounts in order and on the other allow us to finance interventions for families and enterprises. They have been the result of a clear vision that the government is carrying out since the first day: sanctioning those who want to do the smart, helping those who are honest but who are in difficulty and must be put in the conditions of being able to pay what they have to.”.

“Regarding furbi, I want to remember two more important data – adds Meloni -. The first concerns the hateful phenomenon of “open and close” activities, that is those activities that elude the fisco opening and closing in a short time, not paying taxes and contributions, and then reopening with another name. In 2025 more than 12 thousand “open and close” VAT games were ceased by office, more than twice as much as 2024. The second figure concerns, on the other hand, the blocking and seizure of fictitious credits: over 5,6 billion euros, between irregular building bonuses, undue compensations and VAT refunds not due”.

“We are working to build a new relationship between the state and citizens, based on trust and collaboration. This approach, based on a budgetary policy that does not disperse resources but concentrates on the priorities of the Italians, has allowed us to bring back the state accounts in order and to significantly reduce the deficit, to lower taxes with the cut of the fiscal wedge and the reduction of the Irpef, to defend the purchasing power of the wages and to encourage those who create employment in Italy – highlights the premier -. And, above all, it has led us to approve that fiscal reform that Italy had been waiting for for over half a century and that it was no longer postponeable. We are talking about a fundamental reform contained in the government programme and which we are giving very quickly implementation. So far we have approved 18 legislative decrees and 6 unique texts, and we are in the direction of arrival to define the tax code, a tool that will definitively reorder a matter for too long neglected. The commitment the Government intends to respect is to give the Italians a more just, faster, more transparent tax system. A tax system, that is, knows how to be truly ally of citizens, families, those who do business and all those who do their part every day to make this nation great,” concludes Meloni.
