Daniela Santanché resigns as Minister of Tourism: “I don’t hide bitterness, but I obey Meloni”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “Dear Giorgia, as you have officially wished, resigned from the role of minister you had wanted to entrust me and I believe I have done the best of my chances and without any contraindication. I thank you for the awards and trust you have shown me in these years of guidance of the Ministry of Tourism. I wanted to (and I hope you will understand) that it was publicly clear that you were the one who asked me to leave this role because, as I have always said, I would only be in front of your explicit and public request”. Thus Daniela Santanché is addressed to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to resign as Minister of Tourism.

“I wanted to be clear, for my honorability, that I take a step back, not only due to the request that the head of my Party believes useful and appropriate. I was pressed and I would like to stress that today my penal certificate is immaculate and that for the case of integration there is not even a simple reference to judgment – continues Santanchè -. Yesterday perhaps abruptly (I inspired my state of mind) I represented my unwillingness to an immediate dismissal because I wanted to be separated from both the comments on the referendum because I would not like to be the scapegoat of a defeat that was certainly not determined by me, also expected the result in Lombardy and even in my town hall”.

“I wanted my resignation also to be separated from the contingent and very different affair that concerned the Honorable Delmastro who also pays a high price. I clarify this I have no difficulty saying “obbedisco” and doing what you ask – he concludes -. I don’t hide a bit of bitterness for the outcome of my ministerial journey but in my life I’m used to paying my accounts and often those of others. I tend more to our friendship and the future of our movement. Good regards. Daniela”.
