MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Kia has started the production of EV2, the second fully electric vehicle of the company assembled in Europe. This represents further progress in the Kia electrification strategy for the region. The segment B SUV will be assembled at Kia Slovakia, following the modernization program of production lines completed in 2025. “The production of EV2 continues to confirm our technical capabilities and flexibility in Europe,” said Soohang Chang, President and CEO of Kia Europe. “When EV4 entered production last August, we demonstrated our ability to produce fully electric models and cars with hybrid and internal combustion engines flanked. Now, with the addition of EV2, the production of our Slovak factory will even better support Kia’s electrification strategy in Europe.” “We have already prepared processes for the local production of electric vehicles during the preparation for the launch of EV4,” added Tomà. Potocek, spokesman of Kia Slovakia. “With our qualified workforce and hundreds of robots supported by advanced production technologies, EV2 is coming out of the assembly line right now.” Bringing Kia’s electrical experience into the B-SUV segment, EV2 makes electric mobility more accessible, helping customers make transition with confidence. The model is available with two battery options, 42.2 kWh and 61.0 kWh, offering self-employed up to 317 and 453 kilometers. Flexible charging options, including fast charging DC 400V, AC 11 kW and AC 22 kW, support both urban travel and longer travel, while connected services such as EV route planning, Plug & Charge function and bidirectional charging simplify the property. EV2 offers the best of Kia for modern European lifestyle. Designed to be the main car of the family, EV2 focuses on everyday practicality. The compact dimensions however offer ample space for the legs, reclining rear seats and up to 403 liters of load capacity. Kia triple screen options, Over-the-Air updates (OTA) and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) exceed the expectations of the segment.
