ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, constantly follows the difficult situation created by the landslide in Molise which interrupted the A14 motorway, the State 16 and the Adriatic railway line. President Meloni, who yesterday evening telephoned the President of the Regional Council of Molise, Francesco Roberti, today held a meeting in videoconference to which the ministers of Infrastructures and the Transports, Matteo Salvini, and of Defense, Guido Crosetto, the Head of the Department of Civil Protection, Fabio Ciciliano, and the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council, Alfredo Mantovano. The technical checks on the pig in Petacciato are underway, necessary to acquire information and evaluate the interventions aimed at restoring the path.
LECCESE “ITALIA RISCHIA DI ESSERE DIVISA IN DUE”
“That of Petacciato is a story that not only concerns a territory but the whole country. The inconveniences could last for weeks, with the concrete risk of leaving Puglia isolated and, more generally, to break in two Italy along one of its main axes of connection. It is a perspective that we cannot afford to underestimate.” Thus the mayor of Bari, Vito Leccese, intervening on the serious situation determined along the Adriatic ridge as a result of the landslide of Petacciato, which has caused the block of the road and road between Molise and Puglia.
“We ask the Government for urgent and immediate interventions for the safety of the franous front and for the restoration of normal conditions as soon as possible – he adds. At the same time, we ask the Minister for maximum commitment to ensure that, for the entire duration of the emergency, the Bari-Napoli route will not be arranged any further interruptions of the line, precisely to avoid the complete isolation of Puglia. We need urgent interventions and an emergency plan, as well as clear reassurances on the times and modalities with which we intend to intervene, most of all if the resources for the strengthening of the Adriatic dorsal have been directed towards other infrastructural works in the north of the country. Roads and railways are indispensable infrastructure for the mobility of people, for the production system and for the upcoming tourist season. Ensuring full functionality is a national priority, not only territorial. This is why I join the call of the president of the Puglia Region so that the territories directly involved are fully represented in the national emergency table. It is essential to work in a coordinated manner with the Government, the Civil Protection and the Regions concerned to identify rapid and effective solutions. There is no longer time to lose: the security of citizens and the continuity of links must be guaranteed immediately.”.
