Going into more detail about the university’s performance data, UniSR achieves the top score (between 98.4 and 99.7) in all indicators of research quality, which in the ranking holds the greatest weight in the weighting of data (30 percent), namely citation impact, research excellence, research strength and research influence.UniSR’s strength, among the key areas of excellence valued by the ranking, is, therefore, that of research quality, which has carried the university to 201-250 place out of the 2092 ranked universities, and 4th out of the 55 Italian universities in the ranking.This is an outstanding achievement, considering, for example, that to calculate citation impact, capturing the average number of times a university’s published work is cited by scholars around the world, this year’s bibliometric data provider, Elsevier, provided more than 157 million citations related to 18 million journal articles, article reviews, conference proceedings, books and book chapters published in the past five years.
