ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Promote access to credit more effective and consistent with the needs of the light athletic system, supporting the development of the sports equipment and the investment capacity of the territories. This is the goal of the agreement protocol signed by the Institute for Sports and Cultural Credit (Icsc) and the Italian Federation of Light Athletics (Fidal). The agreement was signed by the managing director of the Institute, Antonella Baldino, and the president of Fidal, Stefano Mei, in the presence of the president of Icsc Beniamino Quintieri. The three-year protocol is part of Icsc collaborations with sports organisations to develop operational synergies and promote the dissemination of financial instruments dedicated to support federations and associations and affiliated sports companies. The Fidal is one of the pillars of the national sports system, the protagonist in recent years of a path of consolidation and valorisation that has been translated into remarkable Olympic, world and European results and in a renewed centrality of the athletic light in the national sports scene.
In this framework, the protocol is an enabling tool to accompany this growth trajectory on the infrastructure level, allowing the approximately 2,900 affiliated companies (total 293,000 registered athletes) to access facilitated financing solutions dedicated to the development, requalification and efficiency of sports equipment, as well as the purchase of equipment. Instruments aiming to facilitate access to the most effective and capillary credit, calibrated on the specificities of the federal sports system, helping to strengthen the quality of the plant offer and the sustainability of the interventions on a territorial level. “Through the partnership with the Italian Federation of Light Athletics, Icsc aims to give impetus to programs of regeneration and development of the proximity planning, providing the affiliates with dedicated financial instruments and advanced models of evaluation of the social impact of investments. A concrete commitment to strengthen the athletics chain and promote youth sports, generating lasting value for local communities and contributing to the sustainable development of the territories,” said Antonella Baldino, ad di Icsc.
“This memorandum of understanding represents a concrete and strategic step for the future of our entire movement – said President Fidal Stefano Mei – Italian athletics is experiencing a phase of growth and renewed centrality, and to consolidate these results it is essential to invest decisively on the imperative and conditions that allow societies to operate best on the territories. Thanks to this agreement, our affiliates will be able to access more effective financial instruments, designed on their real needs, promoting the redevelopment of plants, the purchase of equipment and greater sustainability of interventions. It means giving new opportunities to thousands of athletes, technicians and managers, thus strengthening the presence of athletics in local communities.” The collaboration between Icsc and Fidal confirms the shared commitment to support sport as a strategic lever for territorial development, enhancing the sport as an essential infrastructure for the growth of the movement, the widespread practice of sports and the cohesion of local communities.
