ROMA (ITALPRESS) – From the early hours of dawn, the Carabinieri of the Investigative Nucleus of Rome gave execution to an order of cautious custody issued by the G.I.P. of the Capitoline Court, at the request of the Anti-Mafia District Directorate, against 13 persons considered seriously suspected, for various reasons, of association for criminals aimed at traffic and drug trafficking. Confronted also crimes such as detention and illegal port of arms and war ammunition, fence, serious personal injury, extortion, attempted robbery and attempted murder, in some cases aggravated by the mafia method.
Among the arrested there is a well-known member of the Banda della Magliana, already the protagonist of Roman crime in the 1980s and 1990s, who returns to prison. According to the pollutants, man would have maintained solid relations with organized crime environments, in particular with representatives of the Senese clan and with a cosy of ‘ndrangheta, playing a key role in the supply of narcotic substances destined to the main squares of the capital, including Trullo, Corviale, Magliana Nuova, Monteverde Nuovo and Garbatella.
The investigations have reconstructed how, thanks to relations dating back to the early 1980s with the leadership of the Senese clan, the investigation, once back in freedom, would have obtained the free way to operate in different strategic areas of Rome, including Testaccio and Trastevere, extending its influence also to Magliana and Trullo. A central role in illegal activities would also be played by a family restaurant in Testaccio, used as a place of meetings with representatives of organized crime, documented by investigators through environmental interceptions and video surveillance systems.
Man is also challenged by serious episodes of violence: in one case he would threaten a mechanic by pointing a gun to his head to obtain the payment of a debt of 8 thousand euros linked to previous drug disposals. Not obtaining what was required, he would order a punitive expedition towards the victim, wounded with gunshots to the legs in March 2024 in the Magliana neighborhood, with methods attributable to the mafia method. At the head of the organization dedicated to the spaccio would instead be another historical subject of the Roman mala, active in the Trullo district, already arrested in the past because it considered involved as a representative in the murder of Cristiano Molè, occurred in January 2024 in Corviale. During the operation, large quantities of narcotic substances and various weapons were also seized, confirming the danger of the group and its operational capacity on the territory.
