NAPOLI (ITALPRESS) – Two separate measures of seizure were issued by the Tribunal of Santa Maria Capua Vetere – Section Measures of Prevention – and carried out by the Antimafia Investigative Direction, under three proposals advanced by the Prosecutor of the Republic of Naples and the Director of the DIA. The measures affect subjects considered of high criminal thickness, for years linked to the Casalesi clan, to which a stable and significant contribution is attributed to the activities of the Mafia organization. The first measure concerns a building entrepreneur considered an important affiliate of the clan, active especially in the field of public and private contracts. The man would progressively assume a dominant position in the supply of materials for road construction, including marble and porphyry, operating through a network of companies that can be traced back to the system of so-called “Chinese boxes”. According to the polluters, the entrepreneur was linked to the Schiavone family not only in the management of economic activities, but also in the recycling and re-use of illicit proceeds, through operations such as the change of checks and the fictitious heading of goods. His role within the clan had already emerged in the “Spartacus” trial, which ended with a definitive condemnation by Mafia association, a crime which was once again challenged in 2022.
The investigations, conducted by the Operational Centre of Naples under the coordination of the Anti-Mafia District Direction, have reconstructed a profile in which business activities and criminal interests are closely interwoven. A joint contractor, also the recipient of the measure, would collaborate in the management of companies, some directly attributable to the family, others formally intestate to third parties. A second measure struck another historian affiliated with the Casalesi clan, already recipient of definitive convictions. Man would play a strategic role in extortion and reinvestment of illicit proceeds, maintaining contacts with local politicians and acting as a means between the clan and a particularly influential candidate in the administrative elections of Casal di Principe. Asset investigations showed a marked disproportion between declared income and assets in the availability of inquiries and lenders. The Court therefore arranged the seizure for the confiscation of four companies, five buildings, two cars and twenty-four financial reports, for a total value greater than two million euros.
