He was arrested in Catania latitante europea, ran adulterata drugs and fake documents

CATANIA (ITALPRESS) – A workshop to “truck” marijuana and another to manufacture false documents, all managed by an international latizer. The State Police of Catania arrested a 38-year-old Latvian, wanted throughout Europe, surprised in the San Cristoforo district while loading a suspicious package on a car.

Inside the box, Mobile Team agents found seven kilos of grass. The real surprise, however, was in the building from which the man had just left: an apartment turned into a chemical plant. Here, with toxic mixers and solvents, cannabis “light” was treated with synthetic cannabinoids to make it a heavy and dangerous drug. In everything, 27 kilos of substance were seized.

The investigations then moved into the man’s covo, where the police discovered a second technology workshop dedicated to counterfeiting. Between sophisticated machinery and plasticized media, the 38-year-old produced patents, credit cards and fake IDs.

The same investigator had tried to pass through a Luxembourg citizen with counterfeit documents, but the fingerprint test revealed his true identity. In fact, the Latvian citizen thought of a European arrest warrant issued by Germany for drug crimes. The man was arrested, remaining the presumption of innocence until definitive condemnation.
