BOLOGNA (ITALPRESS) – Five days between lessons and practical activities to deepen all aspects of the regional system of Civil Protection, with the help of volunteers and volunteers of Anpas. It began yesterday in Alfonsine, in Ravennate, the school camp dedicated to twenty girls and boys between 10 and 13 years, organized by the Public Assistance City of Alfonsine and reached its second edition. The initiative, implemented in agreement with the Municipality and with the support of Anpas Emilia-Romagna and the Regional Agency for Territorial Security and Civil Protection, is part of the national project “I am also the Civil Protection”. Today the presentation of the Municipal Plan of Civil Protection, the system of allertization and the main behaviour of self-protection in case of flooding, followed by the simulation of the opening of the Municipal Operating Centre (Coc).
In the municipality of Alfonsine, in the presence of the mayor Riccardo Graziani, girls and boys have observed how to face a hypothetical hydraulic emergency and how the different operational functions are activated, represented by officials of the Union of Municipalities of Bassa Romagna. Present, this morning, also the undersecretary with delegation to Civil Protection, Manuela Rontini. “Unfortunately, we have learned about our skin in recent years the crucial importance of having communities formed to face bad weather emergencies – says Undersecretary Rontini –. For this reason we have invested a lot in the education of young generations, so that civil protection is not only an organizational machine that is activated in extreme cases, but also a place of culture of prevention, responsibility and solidarity. Educating girls, children, girls and boys to know the risks of the territory- continues- means building more aware communities and, therefore, safer. And transmit fundamental values such as mutual help, respect for rules and the ability to act together in the face of difficulties.”.
The field is set up at the Free to Fly Youth Centre, in Corso Garibaldi 55 in Alfonsine, and is divided into five days of activity. There is also an overnight stay in one of the tents used during the events of Civil Protection, which will be the same girls and boys to mount, made available by the Provincial Coordination of voluntary associations for the Civil Protection of the province of Ravenna. The programme also includes visits to the operational structures of the ravennate territory that are part of the regional system of Civil Protection, from the Maritime-Capital Direction of Porto to the barracks of the firefighters of Ravenna.
There are twelve school camps organized in summer 2026 as part of the national project “I am also the Civil Protection”, in the provinces of Bologna, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Ferrara, Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena and Rimini. Over one hundred volunteers and volunteers involved and hundreds of the participating girls and boys, called to know closely the civil protection system and the culture of prevention. In the past edition, the training experience involved 360 girls and boys. Launched on June 19, the fields continue until September 6. In addition to that of Alfonsine, this week there is also the Pianello school camp, in Piacentino, curated by the Committee of Piacenza of the Italian Red Cross. The experiences of Sala Bolognese (Bo), Gualtieri (Re) and Cesena have just ended.
