PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – There will be over 14,500 young Sicilians between 6 and 16 years who will be able to carry out sports activities with the support of the Sicilian Region. The Department of Tourism, Sports and Entertainment has published the decree with the ranking of beneficiaries, subdivided by province and by association of belonging, which will get the voucher of 50 euros per month established by the Schifani government to give the opportunity to practice a sport discipline to children and girls of families with an income Isee not exceeding 12 thousand euros. The 6 million (3 for the financial year 2026 and 3 for 2027) made available by the Regional Stability Act allow to assign 14.550 vouchers, distributed on a provincial basis in proportion to the youth population, and cover the courses and sports activities that will take place from 1 September 2026 to 30 April 2027. 3% of resources are intended to cover the expenses of the training activity managed by the regional committees of federations and bodies recognized by the Italian National Olympic Committee (Coni) and the Italian Paralympic Committee (Italian Paralympic Committee).

Since the start of the measure, in 2023, more than 54 thousand beneficiaries, thanks to a total investment of 14 million euros by the Region.
