RIMINI (ITALPRESS) – On the other side of the window, in the heart of a service that is normally observed only from the outside. Four young people “On The Road” lived with the Police Road services in the following papal, on the occasion of yesterday’s visit of Leo XIV to the Meeting and the Diocese of Rimini. This is the first time young people are welcomed by Speciality in such a service.
Not a simulation, but the reality lived without filters, to you with the women and men of the Road Police: from preparation to coordination, from shifts to constant attention to safety, to the encounter with Leo XIV. For a few hours they could live what normally remains behind the scenes of a complex device, with the Road Police engaged in the security and accompaniment services of the Pontiff, also in his capacity as Head of State.
An exceptional experience that tells, at the same time, the everyday life of Speciality: women and men who every day and every night run the streets at the service of others and to protect life, even in its most fragile moments. Behind an escort, a patrol and a uniform are first of all people serving people. The activity is part of the implementation of the interministerial protocol Viminale-MIT of national experimentation of “Giovani On The Road”, wanted by the Ministries of the Interior and Infrastructures and the Transports and coordinated on the territory from the Prefecture of Rimini.
This week in Rimini the project involves 30 girls and boys over 16, called to live on the field, to you with the Institutions and Forces of the Order, real services of different nature and complexity. A model of prevention on the field, born almost twenty years ago and present in 20 Italian provinces, which is not limited to telling the reality to young people, but allows them to live it: on the other side of the window, directly understanding what they mean responsibility, service, security and protection of life.
Alessandro Invernici was also present, founder and vice president of the Associazione Ragazzi On The Road, who shared the experience with young people and operators of the Stradale Police. The experience with the Stradale Police will continue in the coming days, with other young people during services and places of control within the interministerial project at the Rimini Meeting. From the exceptionality of the papal follow-up to the daily routine of controls, the same method: prevention on the field, to you for whom every day and every night is on the way to protect life. Born in 2007 and promoted by the Associazione Ragazzi On The Road, chaired by Egidio Provenzi, the format involved over 1,700 young people, offering them the opportunity to live on the field the activities of the Institutions, the Forces of the Order and the operators of emergency and rescue.
The experience has had its most significant moment in the meeting with Leo XIV, who during the service greeted and narrowed his hand to one of the young “On the Road”, to the founder and vice president of the Association, Alessandro Invernici, and to the staff of the Stradale Police present. A meeting that gave an even deeper meaning to a day lived entirely on the field, from the preparation of the device to the passage of the Holy Father.
The Associazione Ragazzi On The Road expresses its thanks to the Stradale Police, the Prefecture and the Diocese of Rimini for having made possible an experience destined to remain for the whole life in the memory of the young people who lived it.
