ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security will also be the protagonist of the Meeting for Friendship among the peoples of Rimini, scheduled from 21 to 26 August 2026, with a wide space dedicated to comparing the great issues of the environment, energy and sustainability. The MASE, we read in a note, will be present with an exhibition space, realized in collaboration with Invitalia and Uniocamere, of more than 200 square meters, located in the area between the A5 and C5 pavilions. For its size and for the open place function of meeting and comparison, the stand was called “Piazza MASE”: “a space designed to direct and accessiblely tell public policies related to environmental protection, safety and energy transition, while at the same time showing the work of the network of skills, entities, companies and partners that contribute to their implementation.”.
From 21 to 26 August, “Piazza MASE” will host an articulated program of meetings, debates, insights and initiatives aimed at the public, with the aim of bringing citizens, businesses and territories closer to the themes that are transforming the Italian energy and environmental system. “The transition will be recounted not only through strategies, norms and investments, but above all by highlighting its concrete effects on the daily lives of people, on the competitiveness of enterprises and on the prospects for the development of the territories”.
The central moment of the participation of the Ministry will be the presence, Monday 24 August, of the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto. At 3 p.m., at the Sala Neri Generali Cattolica, the Minister will attend the meeting “The role of the Mediterranean in the global energy context”, together with representatives of the main realities of the energy sector and international institutions. The appointment will address the new strategic role of the Mediterranean in international energy balances, infrastructures, security of supply and the possibility for Italy to strengthen its function as an energy hub between Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The official Meeting programme includes, among others, the participation of representatives of Areti, Snam, Enel, UNDP, Hitachi Energy and Eni. (Meeting of Rimini) To follow, from 16.15 to 17, the Minister will be in “Piazza MASE” for the conference “The public energy companies serving citizens”, dedicated to the role of companies and public structures in the construction of an increasingly safe, efficient, sustainable and close to the needs of families and enterprises. The presence of the MASE at the Meeting will be characterized by a strong system dimension.
The bombing of “Piazza MASE” will be enriched by the participation of Single Purchaser S.p.A., ENEA – National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, Gse (Energetic Services Manager), ISIN – National Inspectorate for Nuclear Safety and Radio Protection, ISPRA – Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, RSE – National Research.
The different realities will bring expertise, experiences and projects into the space of the Ministry, contributing to deepening issues that concern the future of the country: from energy security to research and innovation, from environmental protection to nuclear safety and radioprotection, from knowledge and protection of the territory to the operation of energy markets, to international cooperation for sustainable development.
“Piazza MASE” wants to be above all “a place of dialogue between institutions and citizens, in which themes often perceived as complexes can be told through concrete experiences and with an accessible language”, reads again. “The energy and ecological transition is not only about large infrastructures, but it enters into the daily choices of families, the productive processes of enterprises, mobility, consumption, the management of natural resources and the development of local communities.”.
In this perspective, during the Meeting days video, podcasts and information materials of the platform “It depends on us”, realized by the Ministry in the investment PNRR dedicated to “Culture and awareness on environmental issues and challenges”.
Participation in the Meeting of Rimini is an opportunity for MASE to bring environmental and energy policies out of institutional places, building an open space in which administrations, research bodies, enterprises, international organizations and citizens can meet and confront each other. A way to tell a transition that, even before technological and economic, is also social and cultural and that can be realized fully only through the participation and awareness of all.
