ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Hyundai Motor Company announced a multi-year agreement as the Official Automotive Partner of the UEFA Champions League. The partnership emphasizes “the company’s commitment to European club football at the highest levels. The agreement starts with the season 2026/27 and will continue until the end of the season 2030/31”, we read in a note. Football is a family territory for Hyundai. For almost 30 years, Brand has been supporting this sport at the highest levels, from the most important international tournaments to clubs and associations around the world. The UEFA Champions League extends this commitment to the European club football summit. The analogies between the UEFA Champions League and Hyundai range beyond their international dimension: teams participating in the competition gather talent from all over the world and compare to the highest levels in Europe. Hyundai values “the strengths of its global dimension, designing, developing and producing its vehicles in Europe and marketing them across the continent. Two unequivocally European realities for operational and international influences.” “Football has been part of Hyundai for almost 30 years. It is one of the most powerful tools to unite people, overcoming languages, borders and generations – says Josè Munoz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor Company -. The UEFA Champions League is the best club football in the world, played every week in front of Europe’s most passionate fans. After Hyundai’s commitment to the World Cup this summer, the UEFA Champions League is an ideal platform to show our models with a sophisticated design and features that fans appreciate. I’m from Madrid, so I’ve been following this competition all my life. I’m personally excited to be able to get in touch with fans across Europe. It is an ideal time to celebrate football with Hyundai”. As part of its vision of Brand “Progress for Humanity”, Hyundai is committed to expanding opportunities and contributing to a more inclusive future for society. Through this partnership with UC3, the UEFA joint venture with European Football Clubs, the involvement in the UEFA Champions League and its mobility solutions, Hyundai aims to unite people of different cultures and communities across Europe, involving millions of fans and creating a positive impact for the company. “The UEFA Champions League and Hyundai are both driven by progress, performance and ambition to unite people. We enter this partnership with our strongest range ever. IONIQ 3 is the first of the five new models that we will launch in Europe this season, designed and developed for our customers in this geographical area, and is the model that guides our range towards the future”, says Xavier Martinet, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor Europe. “The UEFA Champions League is the world’s most followed annual football competition, with about one out of three players interested in the Champions League globally. The tournament, which involves 36 clubs, is an ideal platform to get in touch with a wide audience of football fans and highlight the future direction of Hyundai, from robotics and physical AI to software and smart mobility solutions developed to meet the needs of European customers,” explains the car manufacturer. Hyundai is a global brand with a strong presence in Europe, built over 30 years. The European Technical Centre in Russellsheim, Germany, develops and engineers the company’s vehicles, while the European Design Centre, located in the same location, defines its appearance and visual identity. Production takes place in the plants of the Czech Republic and Turkey, while Hyundai vehicles reach customers in42 European markets through over 2,000 stores and assistance. Hyundai’s design, development, production and partnership network supports customers and fans every day. IONIQ 3, 100% electric and designed in Europe for European customers, represents the first Hyundai model protagonist of the partnership. The compact hatchback was unveiled at the Milan Design Week at the beginning of this year and became the first electric vehicle to enter production at the Hyundai factory in Izmit (Turkey), with the start of production in August. It is the first of the five new major models that Hyundai will bring to Europe in the 2026/27 season. With IONIQ 3, Hyundai enters the compact segment, the most competitive in Europe, offering features at the top of the category to meet the needs of European customers. The Aero Hatch type of IONIQ 3 has been developed to offer efficiency and autonomy at the top of the category, with an aerodynamic resistance coefficient Cx of 0.263 and an average range of up to 497 km (WLTP). IONIQ 3 “represents Hyundai’s commitment to making electrified mobility even closer to its European customers thanks to the luggage capacity of 441 liters, an internal space at the top of the category, a 14.6-inch display leader in the segment, the new PLEOS Connect infotainment system and a high value for money,” says Hyundai. “We are pleased to welcome Hyundai as the UEFA Champions League Official Partner.
