ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In August BYD registered 2.580 cars, equal to a share of 3.7%, with an increase of 194.9% compared to the same month of 2025. A result that brings, for the fourth consecutive month, the Brand in the Top 10 of the Italian market. And the trajectory of growth emerges with greater evidence observing the progressive of the year; in the first eight months of 2026 BYD totals 36.539 units, almost three times those of the same period of 2025, for an increase of 194.6% and a share of 3.2% annually. These numbers, explains Byd in a note, take on an even greater meaning if inserted in the current competitive context, in which from the beginning of the year BYD continued to grow at a higher rate than that of the market and that in August sees it prime among the Chinese brands marketed in Italy and also overcome some traditional European and American brands. BYD’s consolidation mainly passes through the ability to preside over the entire electrification market: in August, in fact, it ranks first in the NEV (electric + Plug-in Hybrid), with a share of 20.2% and a growth of 194.9% compared to August 2025. The leadership is also confirmed in the cumulative January-August with 36.539 plates, equal to 18.6% of altitude, and an increment of 194.6% on an annual basis. Particularly significant is the performance of the Plug-in Hybrid cars, where BYD maintains in August the first place with 2.093 registrations, a share of 26.7% and a growth exceeding 200% compared to the same month of 2025. Moreover, from January to August registrations reach 29,046 units, for a share of 28% and a growth greater than 200%. It deserves the success of DM-i technology, which is contributing decisively to the growth of the brand. At the same time, in the BEV sector, the mark conquers the podium with 487 registrations, a share of 9.9% and a growth of 94% compared to August 2025. In the cumulation, BYD totals 7,493 BEV, up 122,9%, conquering 8.1% of the Italian electric market. The August results confirm the rapidity with which BYD is consolidating its role as the main player of the energy transition in Italy and Europe, built on volumes, continuity of performance and increasing physical presence on the territory. A progression supported by a solid commercial strategy and the ability to interpret the evolution of demand increasingly oriented towards electrified, efficient and technologically advanced solutions.
