BRESCIA (ITALPRESS) – A tragedy has broken the 49th edition of the 1000 Miglia Rally. An afternoon of passion has suddenly turned into a page of pain. One moment, a street exit, then silence. To lose his life he was a passionate Piedmontese resident in Caselle Torinese, who arrived in Brescia with his wife to attend the race.
A man who knew the world of rallyes, who understood its charm and risks and who had chosen to assist the test from an area considered safe by the organization. The drama was consumed on the special test ‘Bione’, in the territory of Casto.
It was 14.56 when the Skoda Fabia number 42 of the Zorzi-Berisonzi crew left the road near a curve, shortly after the end of the test. On the asphalt are the signs of a long braking, traces that tell those few, terrible moments before the impact. The car lost the trajectory and ended in the lawn below, overwhelming the viewer. There was nothing to do with him.
The death, according to the medical interventions, would have been instantaneous. In the accident no other viewer was involved. The victim’s wife was only touched by the car.
The area was immediately reached by the rescuers and the police, called to carry out the reliefs and to accurately reconstruct the dynamics of the incident. The Rally was canceled.
