ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Enhancing knowledge of tourist flows, intercepting new trends in demand and enhancing Italian airports as strategic points of communication and promotion of the country. These are the objectives of the collaboration agreement signed between the Ministry of Tourism and Atri – Association Travel Retail Italy.
The agreement will allow to develop study and analysis activities on the behaviour of Italian and international travellers in transit at the airports of the country, putting to system institutional skills and knowledge gained by travel retail operators.
The data collected and analyzed will help to improve the understanding of tourist flows, supporting strategies for promotion, seasonalization and valorisation of the territories. The agreement also provides for the possibility to use the main communication tools present at airports, such as ledwalls and digital platforms, for the dissemination of campaigns and institutional messages aimed at the millions of passengers who each year transit through the Italian airports.
“With this agreement we bring the promotion of Italy to a place symbol of travel: the airport. Airports are not simple transit points but they represent welcome spaces and goodbye for tourists. Setting the data on the flow of travellers with the communicative force of our ports means intercepting in real time what tourists are looking for and responding with an increasingly targeted, seasonal and quality offer. It is a strategic alliance that transforms each terminal into a showcase and strengthens the competitiveness of the destination Italy”, says the Minister of Tourism, Gianmarco Mazzi.
“The signature of this agreement is a concrete example of collaboration at the service of Italian tourism growth. Airports are now much more than transport infrastructure: they are meeting places, information and relationship with the traveler. Making available to the country system the heritage of data, skills and communication channels developed by travel retailers means helping to build more and more effective tourist policies, promoting better knowledge of the markets and a more quality travel experience”, says Stefano Gardini, president of Atri.
