ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Starting the first weekend marked by the end of the holidays: many Italians return home for the resumption of work. The last departures are not lacking. Based on the estimates of the Anas Road Mobility Observatory from today until Sunday, August 23 on the roads and highways of the company of the Fs Group there will be more than 24 million motor vehicles. Anas has strengthened the commitment of personnel throughout the national territory and has reduced the presence of yards. Up to 7 September 1,175 yards will be closed or suspended, 83% of those active (1.414).
“For millions of Italians – said the CEO of Anas, Claudio Andrea Gemme -, it is time to return home and resume the pace of everyday life, work and commitments. It is precisely at this stage, however, that we must pay more attention to safety on our roads. The desire to arrive quickly at destination, the tiredness accumulated during the trip or, simply, the melancholy for the end of the holidays must never be translated into behaviors that can jeopardize their own safety and that of others. Driving caution is not a detail, but a responsibility for each of us. These days are characterized by an intense movement of vehicles: next to the large flows of return on the main arteries, there are numerous movements also on the local roads and, in particular, on the state roads near the towns, where the increase of traffic can make the circulation more complex and unpredictable”.
“For this reason, I address a simple but fundamental invitation to all of us,” said Gemme, “to drive calmly, to plan the journey, to consider any slowdowns and always respect the speed limits and rules of the road. Getting there a few minutes before is never worth the risk of an accident. And there is a focus that I want to reiterate with particular force: never use the mobile phone while you are at the wheel. A notification, a call, a message can wait. On the other hand, every second distraction can have irreversible consequences. I conclude with an appeal to responsibility: we make sure that the return journey is really the last part of our holidays and not the beginning of a tragedy. Nothing is more important than life. Ours and those who share the road with us,” said the ad.
In order to cope with the increase in traffic, Anas has approximately 2,500 technicians and exercise staff, together with operators of the Territorial Operating Rooms and the National Security Room, committed to ensure a constant network presence and ensure the highest possible level of assistance to users and traffic management. Viabilità Italia has announced red stamp in the afternoon of today, Friday 21 August, in the morning of tomorrow, Saturday 22 August, and in the afternoon of Sunday 23: movements in net increase towards the big urban centers throughout Italy from the resorts. The calendar of bubbles for the summer is available on the site of Anas and on that of Viabilità Italia.
