BERGAMO (ITALPRESS) – A return home wanted and sought. Ten years later Franck Kessie returned to Bergamo, today the Ivorian midfielder was presented to the press: “The Atalanta gave me everything, he realized my dream, to become a professional footballer. For me to come back here is a choice of heart, where everything started. Now I have to prove it on the field.”.
In a season played in the first team he collected 32 appearances and 7 goals, then the transfer to Milan. In the weeks prior to the interest of Atalanta, the Ivorian had been tried both by Juventus and Rome: “If I was looking for other teams? Normally there’s a market when you’re a free player, I talked to other clubs, when the Atalanta came into play I chose it because they showed me a lot, for me it was a very easy choice. I said “go home”.
Kessie then talked about the first approaches with Mr Sarri: “We all know him, he’s a great coach, we work with him every day, he knows where I can be useful, there’s no problem playing median or a half, I’m ready to give the most for the team and for the city.”.
Space also to team goals: “Here in Bergamo fights for everything, for the Italian Cup, for Europe, for everything. We will go on until the end, then we will make the accounts at the end of May”, he concluded. The midfielder will wear the jersey number 19, against Roma – last day – his first seasonal presence.
