CROTONE (ITALPRESS) – Two family members were arrested by the Carabinieri in Cutro, in Crotonese, on the charge of having competition in the murder and oblation of a 69-year-old corpse. It is the wife, a 60-year-old, and the 28-year-old son, reached by an order of precautionary custody in prison issued by the Crotone Gip at the request of the Prosecutor.
The psalm of man, who died in September 2024, has not yet been found. The report of the disappearance was filed on 28 September 2024 by the wife, who reported that her husband had gone away on 21 September. The investigations, coordinated by the Procura di Crotone, continued until December 2025 through telephone and environmental interceptions and listening to numerous witnesses.
According to the investigators’ reconstruction, the two family members would have killed him in the pertinence of the house and later they would have hidden his body, throwing him into the waters of the river Tacina, in the locality Steccato di Cutro. During the investigation, the Carabinieri del Ris and the Divers of Messina carried out several inspections and researches in the river to identify and recover the body, without result.
The order also reconstructs alleged attempts at deceiving, including the late complaint of the disappearance, arrangements on the versions to provide investigators and the purchase of several liters of varechina which, according to the prosecution, would be used to clean up the crime scene.
