F1 in Austin, Vasseur “Ferrari loaded, still all open”

MARANELLO (MODENA) (ITALPRESS) – It’s back to the States for a season finale that promises to be close and exciting. After the fall break, Formula 1 crosses the Atlantic Ocean for the first leg of the American trifecta, the United States Grand Prix, which is staged at the iconic Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, the scene of the 19th round of the season. Ferrari comes to the appointment with high expectations in a weekend that also features the return of the Sprint format. The only free practice session is scheduled for Friday at 12:30 p.m. local time (7:30 p.m. CET), followed by Sprint race qualifying at 4:30 p.m. (11:30 p.m. CET). On Saturday the Sprint race will start at 1 p.m. (8 p.m.), followed by Grand Prix qualifying at 5 p.m. (midnight). On Sunday, the five red lights that will start the 56-lap (308.405 km) U.S. Grand Prix will go out at 2 p.m. (9 p.m.). “With the Austin race begins the intense season finale made up of six races organized over two triplets in just eight weeks,” the analysis of Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur. “As for us, we want to verify on the high-speed corners of this track the goodness of what we have already brought in the previous races. This weekend it will also be particularly important to prepare at home before arriving at the circuit: in fact, the Sprint format is back and this means that we will have a single free practice session before going into qualifying for the 100-kilometer race on Saturday. Leclerc and Sainz have prepared well and the team is loaded and as always we will focus on ourselves to bring home the best from the package at our disposal. We have to put our best foot forward, because the values in the field are very close and in the rankings everything is still open.”- Photo Ipa Agency –
