In Emilia-Romagna in 2026 financed 37 projects against mafias and youth deviance

BOLOGNA (ITALPRESS) – From contrast to mafia infiltrations in the economy, to social reuse of property confiscated from crime, to prevention of youth deviance, bullying, online hatred and digital violence. And then educational activities for civic responsibility, civil memory, administrative transparency and democratic participation. These are, in summary, the initiatives of the 37 projects financed this year by Viale Aldo Moro, through special ‘Accordi di Programma sullalegalità e Prevention del Crime Organized in Emilia-Romagna 2026’, which see more than 2 million euros of investments, of which 1,2 million put in the field by the Region in the field of policies for the promotion of legality and responsible citizenship (Regional Law 18/2016,” single law for the promotion of the economy). Seven initiatives concerning social reuse for local communities of property confiscated from crime.

As a whole, the 37 projects outline a regional strategy that connects local authorities, schools and universities, the third sector, local associations and communities with activities ranging from educational and laboratory courses in schools and festivals, public meetings and testimonies, research and training activities, street educative interventions, to regeneration of confiscated goods, active citizenship experiences and multimedia communication tools.

In addition to these strands, various initiatives are involved in the most exposed social vulnerabilities: housing, marginality, dependencies, wear, labor exploitation, gender violence and forms of environmental, economic and social illegality. All with the aim of strengthening social cohesion, the participation of citizens and citizens and the role of local authorities as leaders of proximity, to build more aware, responsible and inclusive territories.

“Legitimacy is a social infrastructure. With these projects – say the president of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Michele de Pascale, and the Regional Councillor for Legality, Elena Mazzoni- we support an idea that leaves not only the territories in front of infiltrations, violence and new forms of deviance. Investing in this direction means strengthening the cohesion, security and freedom of our communities. The local authorities are the first district of proximity to the state and as a region we continue to put them under the conditions of action.”.

“So we finance a capillary action that brings together prevention and responsibility. From schools to street educative, from contrast to online hatred and gender violence, to fight against wear and exploitation, to the valorisation of confiscated goods: it is a strategy that focuses on young people, skills, participation and administrative transparency. The culture of legality for us is not a slogan, it is daily practice that builds citizenship and inclusion.” “There is no legality without social justice and there is no inclusion without legality – conclude de Pascale and Mazzoni-. Contrasting mafias also means giving back to the community what crime has taken away, destinating property confiscated for social purposes and transforming them into opportunities for the territories and for the most fragile people. For this legality, contrast to inequalities and inclusion must proceed together: more cohesive communities and more opportunities are also stronger and more free communities.”.
