EU, von der Leyen “We will take the Kids Act, no social media under the age of 13”

STRASBURGO (FRANCIA) (ITALPRESS) – “Today the Commission will propose the “Kids Act”. We will adopt a gradual and differentiated approach. Each age group has its own specificity; consequently, each will benefit from a tailored level of protection. No personal accounts under 15 years. No social media under 13. This means that, for the range between 13 and 15 years unfinished, only “mini-accounts” will be allowed created and supervised by parents, characterized by limited functionality and temporal restrictions – he added. For the range between 15 and 18 years, safe design (“safe design”) will become an obligation for platforms”. This was said by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in his speech on the State of the Union, to the plenary of the European Parliament, in Strasbourg.
