Urso “Fare della blue economy un nuovo motor di sviluppo”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The Mediterranean has returned to the center of world economic geography and Italy has an advantage that no one can take away: its position, natural bridge between Europe and the Mediterranean. To transform it into growth and employment, infrastructure, ports and logistics are needed to meet the new industrial challenges. This is what we are working on: from Zes Unica del Mezzogiorno to Piano del Mare, to an industrial strategy to make the Blue Economy a new development engine.” So the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, in the video message sent at the annual assembly of Uniport.

“In this context – he added – we have been working in Europe since the beginning of the legislation to reduce foreign dependence, strengthen strategic autonomy and ensure security of supply.”.

“In the coming days we will present the Italian candidacy to host the first European strategic storage site, in the context of the call of the European Commission that we strongly wanted. The Veneto, with Porto Marghera, can be a gateway to European markets and a strategic hub to attract new investments. Around this project we can build an integrated supply chain, connecting the Interporto Dial Europa di Verona, the ports of Trieste and Ravenna and the Tassullo mine in Val di Non, example of valorization of the underground with a reduced consumption of soil. The goal is to set up ports, logistics, industry and mineral resources. Italy, together with you, can become a leading European pole in the recycling and transformation of critical raw materials,” concluded Urso.
