WASHINGTON (UNITED STATES) (ITALPRESS) – The 11th edition of the Italian Excellence Award 2024, an initiative created to pay tribute to the merit of professionals, businesses and territorial realities at the forefront of the international promotion of Made in Italy, took place at the Café Milano in Washington, D.C. Numerous awards were presented to the many Italians living in the United States, including Claudio Pagliara, Rai correspondent in the United States. “I am proud to receive this award,” said Pagliara, “But the people who really deserve it are all these Italians who have come here and brought honor to Italy, and the job of a journalist is to tell the story. I am happy to be among them and I am truly honored.” Also among the honorees was M5S MEP Giuseppe Antoci, who reiterated the importance of safeguarding legality: “This is a journey that starts from afar. I want to dedicate this award to the many Italians who have arrived in this country for years and helped make it great. They have brought excellence and quality. This is a path that continues because this is a land where Italians have always also carved out that little piece of responsibility to make it better. It is clear that the path that we have taken on the issues of justice and legality, the norm that we have created that is devastating the assets of the mafias. This is also a success that we want to export to a country where sometimes people think that mafias are only Italian, but in reality they have become globalized and the fight against organized crime must be continental.”
Great satisfaction also came from Massimo Lucidi, president of the e-Novation Foundation and organizer of the 2024 Italian Excellence Award: “In Italy there is always great attention to serving the reasons of the other, and I think this belongs to that Italian-ness that we like. That of welcome but also of proof, which in the United States is fundamental. You are given the opportunity, you are given the chance but you must not make a mistake, you must commit yourself to get into the system. We have to profess with deeds and not with words those values of freedom, of the culture of life that are the characteristics of which we celebrate the excellence today.”
