Bologna knocked out in England, Aston Villa wins 2-0

BIRMINGHAM (ENGLAND) (ITALPRESS) – Bologna’s season-long difficulties continue as it remains stuck with just one win between Serie A and the Champions League. In the second away trip to England also comes the second knockout: 2-0 against an Aston Villa side that leads with full points after three matches. Emery surprises by leaving out his totem Ollie Watkins and giving confidence to Duran, in goal against Bayern, Italiano finds Ndoye again and deploys the green line: Fabbian-Urbanski the midfielders, in front there is Dallinga. The first ring is red and bears the signature of the former Toulouse, who engages Dibu Martinez. Bologna presses high, but takes big risks: Skorupski is decisive on Duran and McGinn. Aston Villa rises powerfully, both in the center of gravity and in the rhythms, but without making themselves dangerous: the Felsini close the spaces, lower the pace and (with a few too many mistakes) hold out at 0-0 at halftime. The resumption opened with two changes and two chances: Bailey came close to taking the lead for the Villans, Posch responded by kicking wide. The Austrian’s shot represents the last gasp for the red-blacks, who sink in the following minutes. Aston Villa went ahead at 55′ in the least expected way: sideways free kick by McGinn, everyone touched it and no one touched it with the trajectory mocking Skorupski. Nine minutes later here is also the encore for the English, with Rogers’ cross and Duran’s turn, who anticipates Lucumì. It’s 64′ and it’s 2-0, with Emery thinking Premier (three changes) and Italiano trying to shake up his side by inserting Castro and former Iling-Junior. In the final, the Villans simply controlled possession and risked only on one occasion, with Beukema hitting a post in the 86th minute on action from a corner. Bologna could have reopened the game by a header, but it all goes wrong at Villa Park and another defeat comes. It ends 2-0 and the Felsinei remain stuck on just one point in their first time in the Champions League: just one win this season for Italiano. Emery, on the other hand, smiles, towering above everyone with nine points in three matches and no goals conceded. A fabulous score for Aston Villa, which had beaten Bayern Munich in the last round and continues to take off in the sign of Jhon Duran. – Photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
