Test match for ItalRugby, Duodo “Challenging challenges”

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Argentina, Georgia and New Zealand. Three opponents to measure the level of a national team that has already surprised, positively, during the last Six Nations. The Autumn Nations Series 2024, the three competitions that Italy Rugby will face on November 9, 17 and 23 in Udine, Genoa and Turin, respectively, were presented today at the Auditorium Vittoria in Milan. There is great anticipation for the challenge against the All Blakcs, but coach Gonzalo Quesada does not want to get out of line: “The one with Georgia has a special value because Argentina and the All Blacks are in the world top. For me it will be the most important one: we will play against a team that will have so many ambitions, I expect it a lot because it will be a good test of character. Within the group the guys know that every game is important. Before we play Georgia, no one will think about New Zealand.” But the fascination will also be about Quesada’s inner derby, which will kick off the Azzurri’s autumn journey: “With Argentina it will be a special match, my country is Argentina, but the commitment will be 100 percent for the Italian jersey. It will be an incredible challenge. They come in the best possible moment, but my confidence in this group is even greater.” Fir president Andrea Duodo also spoke: “These test matches will be the first three matches of this season, they will be three very challenging competitions, we will see how we compare after ending a season on the rise, we will have to restart with momentum, we hope to get good results. I put them all on the same level, each match has its own peculiarities.Italy-Argentina will be full of meaning, we have an Argentine coach who wore the Pumas jersey for several years,it will have its own romantic meaning as well. The second with Georgia is a recurring engagement in recent years, difficult and tough, we face a never tame national team. We will close with the All Blacks, for us it will be an extra stimulus to confront agreat level. We do not have to win, we have all the cards to do well. We are aware that we have a very good team and a very good staff, we expect to collect something important.” It starts on Nov. 9 in Udine, Italy, at Bluenergy Stadium against Argentina, fresh off important victories in the Rugby Championship, the four-nation event that also features South Africa, New Zealand and South Africa. – Photo Pia/Italpress -(ITALPRESS).
