TURIN (ITALPRESS) – To celebrate the indissoluble bond between the global Alfa Romeo brand and Nicola Larini, 1993 DTM champion with Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI, the Heritage department of Stellantis (Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia and Abarth) has conceived and developed the 4C – “Nicola Larini” GT Collection project, which will create three unique and spectacular examples based on the supercar that brought the Biscione brand back to the United States in 2014. The project is presented today with a video made in Turin, precisely at the Officine Classiche and the virtual room of the Alfa Romeo Style Center, where Nicola Larini met Alessandro Ravera, Special Vehicles Operations manager of Stellantis Heritage, and Alessandro Maccolini, current Alfa Romeo Design Project Manager and then head of design for the 4C. An exciting story unfolds, highlighting the exclusive aesthetics of these collector’s pieces. The choice to make this tribute with the 4C is not accidental. Indeed, Nicola Larini has always expressed great admiration for this car, recognizing qualities that only a professional driver can fully appreciate, such as lightness, speed, responsiveness and road holding. Characterized by a bold and aerodynamic design inspired by Alfa Romeo’s past icons, the 4C is in fact a “2-passenger dry” sports car, with rear-wheel drive and mid-mounted engine, that still shines in the compact sports car scene by making the hearts of Alfa Romeo sports enthusiasts around the world beat faster. “What emotion does the Alfa Romeo 4C arouse in me? Well, a lot. But, honestly, I would talk more about ‘sensations’ because I had a chance to test it thoroughly, to experience it, to take it to a real circuit like Balocco. There I had the opportunity to push it to the maximum and I realized that, yes it is a road car but it was born for the track. It has qualities that only when you take it to the limit do you realize how safe it is. It also has comfort that a sedan could give you, but with unparalleled performance, especially in terms of safety. I have never experienced a car that is so easy to handle at high speeds, and that is the most important thing when you are dealing with performance cars. I believe the 4C will remain in the hearts of all enthusiasts and, above all, of the new owners of the new collection that bears my name to whom I wish to enjoy a sporty driving experience at the highest level,” says Nicola Larini.Realized as part of Stellantis Heritage’s “Reloaded by Creators” program, the three exclusive 4C “Nicola Larini” cars are the result of the transformation of existing cars In this specific case, a decisive role is played by the three eye-catching liveries, one for each car, which the Tuscan driver selected together with Stellantis Heritage and the Alfa Romeo Style Center, and pay homage to the Italian brand’s traditional boldness in choosing distinctive colors with a strong personality. In fact, taking inspiration from the original liveries of the iconic Giulia GT of the 1960s, the three shades chosen for the 4C – GT “Nicola Larini” Collection are Pine Green, Plum Red and Ochre Yellow, all accentuated by white inserts placed on the front and rear tail.”Together with Nicola we chose Verde Pino, Rosso Prugna and Giallo Ocra, three colors that characterized the Giulia GT and GTV of the 1970s, which are therefore part of Alfa Romeo history and which we are going to revisit slightly to make them more compatible with the body of the 4C. Also, referring to its world, which is that of racing, we worked on the graphic aspect by creating a specific livery for each example. For the interiors, we took Nicola’s suggestion that, just as for the exteriors, there is a racing atmosphere in the cockpit, as evidenced by the use of a black microfiber, so as to eliminate all what may be reflections in the car and at the same time have the necessary grip on the seat, steering wheel, etc.,” explains Alessandro Maccolini.Three bright and bubbly colors, then, further emphasizing the sculptural forms of the Alfa Romeo supercar. All made even more precious by Nicola Larini’s signature placed on the hood, together with the Brand logo, sealing a union destined to remain in history, and by the imposing alloy wheels painted in a color coordinated with the car’s livery. Similarly, in the interior, the insignia with the driver’s autograph stands out, placed on the dashboard, and the specific upholstery with inserts that recall the body color, emphasizing the uniqueness of these examples rich in charm and value. Intended for collectors and enthusiasts of the brand, from all over the world, Alfa Romeo 4C “Nicola Larini” can already be ordered and will be produced, certified and sold directly by the Heritage department of Stellantis, which protects and preserves the historical heritage of the Italian brands Alfa Romeo, FIAT, Lancia and Abarth. For more information you can visit the dedicated web section or write to heritage@stellantis.com. “These are really three wonderful cars, combining sportiness and glamour, and each one will come with an Alfa Romeo Classiche certificate of authenticity. We like to recall that we involved Larini in this new project on the occasion of the 2024 1000 Miglia, for which we had entrusted him with our splendid 1954 Alfa Romeo 1900 Sport Spider. The champion’s return to racing with Alfa Romeo gave strong emotions to all motorsport fans and especially to Alfisti. And today, with the 4C – GT Collection ‘Nicola Larinì project, we are sure to give another exciting moment to the whole Alfa Romeo tribe, under the banner of the brand’s most authentic values,” concludes Alessandro Ravera.
