Assoholding, training event in Verona on future of family businesses

VERONA (ITALPRESS) – On October 31, 2024 in Verona, from 2:30 to 6:00 p.m., at the Army Unified Circle, Corso Castelvecchio 4, Assoholding’s Family Business and Generational Transition Observatory in collaboration with Insignum, The Trust in Italy, STEP and Assofiduciaria presents an educational event dedicated to the topic of generational transition and the tools available to entrepreneurs to successfully deal with it.The generational handover, a crucial issue for the Italian economic fabric, represents one of the main challenges for the continuity of family businesses, which make up 60 percent of Italian companies. The meeting aims to provide entrepreneurs with an in-depth overview of the main legal and tax tools available to facilitate business succession, ensuring management and patrimonial continuity for family businesses. In an era of rapid economic and social change, the family business and generational handover sector is proving to be emerging and vital for the national and international economy. According to data from the Global Family Business Index, the world’s 500 largest family businesses generated revenues in excess of $8 trillion, registering a 10 percent growth over the previous year.Just 30 percent of family businesses reach the second generation and only 13 percent reach the third generation, data that give pause when considering that the sector represents a major strategic asset for our nation. Event Objective During the event, experts in the field will analyze the most effective strategies for planning the generational transfer, with a focus on new regulations and best practices that allow preserving the company’s assets and promoting the growth of new generations. The Conference aims to raise awareness on how to plan and structure the transition to safeguard business value and family harmony. The training event aims to provide entrepreneurs with practical tools to better plan the generational handover, offering expert advice on tax and legal aspects related to wealth and business succession, and promoting a discussion among business families, legal and tax advisors to share experiences and best practices. “While legislation and business strategies continue to develop,” stresses Lorenzo Echeoni, Director General of Assoholding and promoter of the Observatory, “a significant figure is still recorded: only 13 percent of family businesses, a strategic asset of the country, reach the third generation. If this figure is considered alarming then it means that the issue of family business and generational transition is not yet a resolved issue and therefore it is necessary to offer new answers and perspectives to such a heartfelt and decisive issue, not only from an economic point of view but also on the side of sustainability since family businesses in particular very often are spontaneously a vehicle of values and regenerative culture. “Among the speakers will be: Daniela Ballarini, Public Relations Professional; Gaetano De Vito, Assoholding President; Lorenzo Echeoni, Assoholding General Manager; Thomas Tassani, Unibo Ordinary Professor; Stefano Loconte, STEP Italy President; Gian Vittorio Cafagno, Insignum President; Francesca Romana Lupoi, Il Trust In Italia President; Antonio Sibilia, Tax Affairs Director Assoholding; and Lucia Frascarelli, Assofiduciaria General Secretary.
