LECCE (ITALPRESS) – Lecce overcame Verona 1-0 in the Via del Mare match valid for the tenth day of the Serie A championship: a goal by Patrick Dorgu (who was previously disallowed two other goals) decided the contest. The visiting lineup started off strong right away with a Lazovic throw to find Serdar, who nearly missed the ball. On 12′ it was the same Serdar who went to the conclusion from the distance, winning a corner kick following Baschirotto’s deflection. Three minutes later the Giallorossi went within a whisker of the lead with Gaspar, whose header hit a glaring post. On 21′ Luca Gotti’s men scored through Dorgu, but the goal was later disallowed by Mariani for a foul by the offensive outfielder on Tchatchoua. The hosts continued to play the game and at 35′ saw another goal cancelled by Dorgu, who this time was pinched in an irregular position. Hellas Verona appears to be in trouble and the situation gets even worse at 40′, when Tchatchoua is sent off with a direct red for a foul against the unleashed Dorgu. On the following free kick Krstovic kicked powerfully but did not frame the goal mirror. After three minutes of stoppage time, we go to rest on the 0-0 score. In the resumption Lecce picks up where it left off and at 51′ takes the lead with Dorgu who, after two goals were disallowed, manages to write his name on the scorers’ sheet: the Dane takes advantage of a cross from Banda and slips the ball into the back of the net. At 60′, the Gialloblù tried to respond with a shot by Suslov, which, however, did not hit the goal. The Salento team travels on the wings of enthusiasm and goes close to doubling the score at 64′ with a treacherous header by Gaspar. The Giallorossi administered the lead and tried to strike on the counterattack, but in 77′ they lent their side to the Scaligeri’s offensive: Suslov attempted a shot, but Falcone was alert and repelled. In the 82nd minute Verona is even left with nine men as Belahyane, already cautioned, vehemently protests against the referee and receives a second yellow card. Luca Gotti’s boys controlled the match, even coming close to doubling the score with Tete Morente, and defended the 1-0 until the triple whistle. By virtue of this result, Lecce hooks Monza and Parma on eight points, while Hellas Verona remains at nine.- photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
