EMPOLI (ITALPRESS) – Frattesi’s double and Lautaro Martinez’s goal launched Inter, which scored three times in the second half and knocked out Empoli at Castellani. Race marked by Goglichidze’s expulsion that penalizes the Tuscans, still without goals in the five home games played this season. For the Nerazzurri, three heavy points that return to narrow the gap with leading Napoli now four lengths away. Two changes for D’Aversa compared to Parma: starters Cacace and Maleh in place of Pezzella and Grassi. Up front Fazzini and Solbakken support Colombo. Inzaghi also does not overdo the turnover and confirms the attacking pair Thuram-Lautaro Martinez. In the midfield space for Frattesi and Darmian, in defense there is Bisseck. Visiting ball possession, but the hosts concede very little space in the early stages and go first to the shot with a diagonal by Solbakken, set up by Anjorin, which Sommer blocks on the ground without difficulty. On free kicks Inter were more dangerous and Vasquez had to fly to say no to Dimarco’s conclusion, made even more insidious by a deflection from Ismajli. At the turn of the half two key episodes, both decided by Var intervention. With a breakthrough Darmian put his side ahead, but with the help of technology an arm check by the Nerazzurri emerged that earned the goal cancelled. At the half-hour mark, however, Serra calls Marchetti back to the monitor to analyze a foul by Goglichidze on Thuram: the on-field referee had initially opted for a caution, but after reviewing the images he punishes the Empoli player’s hammer foot with a direct red card. With the extra man, Inter revved up the engine, Vasquez again responding to a violent Dimarco free kick, while a header by Lautaro ended just wide.D’Aversa removed Solbakken and put in De Sciglio to try to regain balance, but at the first chance of the second half Inzaghi’s team found the lead: a tower by Darmian for Frattesi who kicked from the center of the box and found, thanks in part to a defender’s touch, the cross of the posts to the goalkeeper’s right. The goal clears the way for good for Inter by condemning Empoli. Vasquez saves on Lautaro and Bisseck shoots high from an excellent position, but shortly afterwards Martinez himself serves Frattesi the ball that the national team midfielder sends again into the corner, this time low down where the goalkeeper cannot reach. In the final, Barella went on his own and with a great shot touched the net before recovering and delivering to Lautaro the 3-0 ball that allows the Argentine to become the best foreign scorer (134 goals) in Nerazzurri history. – photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
