BERGAMO (ITALPRESS) – Fourth consecutive win and another night at the top of the standings. Atalanta wins 2-0 against Monza thanks to second-half goals by Samardzic and Zappacosta: 19 points for Gasperini’s team, committed Sunday lunchtime against Napoli in the lead. The Brianza team, in the game for more than 70 minutes, chews bitterly: with Milan they will need to make a turnaround to move up the standings. Those who expected a match similar to the one against Verona were disappointed, also accomplice to a defensive line, that of Monza, crushed on its own penalty area. Atalanta immediately tried to take over the ball of the game, but the chances built came in spades: Retegui’s shot, weak to trouble Turati, and De Roon’s inaccurate shot certainly did not shake up an often broken contest influenced by the continuous time wasting by the Brianzoli. Only one dangerous conclusion for Nesta’s team, Carnesecchi, however, managed to fend off Bianco’s shot from distance. In the second half Gasperini sent in Lookman trying to give more unpredictability with Samardzic. The Serbian took 25 minutes to unlock the game: first dribbling into the small area, then a central but sudden conclusion that electrocuted Turati. After the goal the Nerazzurri found more confidence, the former Udinese player even came close to a personal double. Closing the challenge, at 43′, was Zappacosta: the Azzurri outfielder centralized finding the goal in the corner pocket, a real three-point shot that gave the fourth victory to the Bergamaschi.
