VERONA (ITALPRESS) – Hellas Verona won an important victory at the Bentegodi, overcoming Roma 3-2 in the match marking the 11th day of the Serie A championship. Tengstedt, Magnani and Harroui scored for the Venetians; in vain the Capitoline goals signed by Soulè and Dovbyk. The Giallorossi team had a good approach to the match and immediately tried to show phases in the opponent’s half of the field, scoring with Zalewski, but the goal was cancelled due to an initial offside. On 13′, the Polish outfielder makes a glaring mistake by giving the ball away to Tengstedt, who sprints towards the goal and beats Svilar for 1-0. On 25′ Soulè gobbled up the equalizer by shooting high from a few while, but three minutes later he redeemed himself: the former Juventus striker received the ball from Zalewski and deposited a backheel into the back of the net. The pace of the match remains very high and at 34′ Hellas takes the lead again thanks to a winning header on the development of a corner by Magnani. The goal was validated after a check for two alleged fouls by the Veronese, which were not detected by the match director first and by Var later.
In the second half, Roma managed to grab the equalizer immediately in 53′ with Dovbyk, who, after getting the ball rolling, capitalized on Soulè’s assist to the fullest, making the decisive tap-in; again, a check was needed to validate the goal. Both coaches make substitutions to try to change the game, and Juric, increasingly poised, sends in Dybala (initially on the bench) among others. The fresh forces seem to do well for the Capitoline team, which in the 83rd minute goes close to scoring the lead with a free kick by the number 21, which grazes the cross of the posts. A few moments later a melee was created in the penalty area of the Scaligeri, which was settled by the match director who stopped everything for offside. With two minutes left in the 90′, newcomer Harroui froze the Giallorossi fans, materializing Livramento’s counterattack and signing the 3-2 goal. In the midst of the recovery Montipò made a decisive intervention on Dybala, while Livramento was sent off for a bad foul on El Shaarawy. Fourth league success for Hellas; Roma’s crisis continues.
