ROME (ITALPRESS) – Mazda Italy renews its commitment to support the Peter Pan Association for the 17th consecutive year by providing a Mazda CX-5. This car will be used by volunteers to accompany young cancer patients and their families from their lodgings to the Bambino Gesù Hospital, offering them maximum safety and comfort during their journeys.Peter Pan, founded in 1994 in Rome from the desire of a group of parents to support other families affected by the disease, has grown over the years to become a point of reference for those facing the difficult path of pediatric oncology treatment, having supported more than 900 patients. The Association offers free hospitality in its Houses, which welcome families from all over Italy and abroad, unable to return home daily during their children’s treatments.Within these facilities, one finds not only a safe and welcoming place to stay, but also important emotional and practical support. The common spaces, the moments of socialization between children and between parents, and the recreational activities organized for the little ones help to create a serene and sharing environment, this also and especially thanks to their volunteers, present 365 days a year at the service of the Association. It is here that Peter Pan comes to life: every gesture, activity and smile becomes an integral part of the healing journey. Peter Pan offers young guests school classes and the invaluable support of a developmental psychologist, both at home and during hospitalizations. Among the many initiatives, creative workshops, summer camps and outings are just some of the activities carried out in the moments free from therapy, with the aim of contributing to a faster psychophysical recovery. For parents, the Association offers the support of a psycho-oncologist to help them process the burden of the disease and relate with their child.Since 2007, Mazda Italia has been at Peter Pan’s side, providing a car on loan free of charge that each year allows it to guarantee transportation service to young patients and their families. Mazda Italy proudly reaffirms its commitment to solidarity, confirming its presence alongside Peter Pan in this battle, with the aim of giving a little serenity and concrete support to those who face such difficult challenges every day.
