PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – The Palermo Asp’s traveling flu vaccination campaign kicks off next Friday from Politeama Square. A mobile clinic will be inside the Marathon EXPO to promote and administer the vaccination. From 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both Friday, Nov. 15, and Saturday, Nov. 16, it will be possible to get vaccinated by showing identification and health card. Also next Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the traveling team of the Palermo Asp will vaccinate users in another mobile clinic housed within the spaces of the Maria Santissima Mediatrice Church on Viale Santissima Maria Mediatrice in Palermo. The wide-ranging program organized by the Asp’s corporate management also includes an open day every Saturday (starting Nov. 16) of the city’s vaccination centers, which will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. “It is unfortunate to grasp,” said Asp General Director Daniela Faraoni, “the disappointment of the General Practitioners’ unions regarding corporate planning activities. This year we are seeing strange changes in demand from health care providers involved in vaccination activities and from private pharmacies as well: both, often, have indicated preferences in the use of vaccines with different modalities from those used in the previous year and not easily traceable to AIFA indications. By the way, last year more than 15,00O doses purchased were not used. This is not the place for controversy, but it is fair to point out that the Asp is acting within resources and in accordance with principles of good administration. The discrediting of the statements of some will, of course, be subject to the most appropriate evaluations. Lessons of management are not accepted, especially where responsibilities of a different profile should result in the behaviors put in place. The Asp is vigilant and works as always with respect for the rules and citizens’ needs. “So far 255,000 flu vaccines have already been purchased by the Palermo Asp, of which 187,000 have already been distributed, while another 50,500 are being distributed as of today, a note said. Last year, the Palermo Health Authority for the entire flu vaccination campaign (November 2023 to February 2024) had bought 278,523 doses of flu vaccine and 263,870 were administered. -photo Asp Palermo press office -(ITALPRESS).
